Next Organics Enrollment Period
With Elenteny’s organic program now up and running with USDA’s new rules in effect, we are reopening enrollment in June for our customers to opt in, or add new products and avoid paying rush fees.
The next enrollment period provides the opportunity for you to register the organic wines you intend to import for one year. You must register wines with a label including the word ORGANIC, or Bio. This can be any of the following:
“Organic”, “Organic Wine”, “Made with Organic Grapes”, “Made using Organic practices”, “Biologique”, “Bio”, or contain words to the effect of “certified by Ecocert” (or any other certifier).
The next enrollment period is: June 1, 2024 – June 21, 2024

Organics Webinar June 7th, 2024 at 3:00 pm EDT.
On June 7th 2024 at 3:00 pm EDT, Elenteny Imports will hold a webinar to review our organics program. This webinar will be hosted by our Logistics Director, Tim Kealey. We will discuss a basic program overview, new guidance/updates, and opting out.

Producer holidays are looming
It is time to start planning for producer holiday shutdowns. It is best practice to have your shipment requests submitted no later than 3 weeks before your producers shut down for their holiday season. Even if your wine is not ready, we can schedule the pick-up before the producer’s closure.
French strikes May through June
If you have any plans of importing wines from France over the next few months, please plan accordingly. The French National Federation of ports and docks are planning on 4 hour work stoppages in the middle of day, starting May 23, and will also inlude May 27, 29 and 31. June 4, 6, 10, 12, 14, 18, 20, 24, 26, 28. This will put significant strain on port operations, and create delays that reverberate for weeks after the planned strikes have stopped. Producer holidays usually start around July, so please account for additional delays when making your summer purchasing plans.
