Operations Update
More French Strikes announced – Order Now June Strikes will have a lasting impact
In addition to the forecast 4-hour rolling strikes on June 4th, 6th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 18th, 20th, 24th, 26th and 28th. The French Union FNPD CGT has announced new 24 – hour strikes on June 7, 13, 21, 25. The program of strikes will slow down operations for some time as orders build up, and the staff power to complete loadings is reduced. Some Elenteny orders have already been delayed due to an inability to access the ports for loading.
We urge you to get your orders in as soon as possible so they can be queued to sail at the earlier possible time. We are projecting that orders which are ready now will not arrive until mid to late July.
We are also investigating alternative routes to ensure on-time delivery.
Congestion in Italy
Congestion at the port of Genova continues to impact operations. A congestion fee will be levied from 10 June 2024. Whilst, this is not directly impacting Elenteny LCL shipments, it may touch our transits if any ships are diverted to the port due to other strike action elsewhere.
Warehouse Fee Increase
We have been informed by the Fond Du Lac Warehouse that they will be implementing a 5.3% rate increase affecting storage and delivery fees. This adjustment is primarily due to rising costs and a 35% increase in insurance costs implemented earlier this year.
The new rates will take effect on August 1, 2024.
Please note that there will be no changes to Drayage or Miscellaneous fees at this time. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out
