Operations Update

Q1 CBMA Payments

Elenteny has submitted the Q1 CBMA fillings to the TTB and we will remit to our customers once finalized.  In 2023 we handed back significant CBMA discounts to our customers and it is time to ensure that your suppliers have re-assigned CBMA gallons for 2024.  Once assignments are made please be sure to send TTB Foreign IDs to cbma@elentenyimports.com  For more information head to the TTB website.

Red Sea Update

The events in the Red Sea continue to impact ocean freight.  Major shipping companies are routing via South Africa’s Cape of Good Hope and we have seen Hapag Lloyd, Maersk, and CMA CGM suspend operations in the region.  The reliability of shipping routes remains uncertain as operators redirect ships, make last-minute routing decisions, and assess the availability of containers.  For example, Hapag has forecast limitations on the availability of reefer containers. Latest on the Panama Canal

The Panama Canal Authority recently announced an increase in daily slots. These new transit slots will allow vessels a better chance to secure a reservation, despite the continuing low water levels in the dry season.  Additional carrier surcharges are expected to continue.

A Shipping Bill of Rights

The Craft Wine Association (CWA) and Vinoshipper are working on a new Shipping Bill of Rights. This initiative seeks unity among like-minded organizations and individuals who understand the importance of leveling up the rights of beverage alcohol producers and consumers to meet the needs of the consumer in the modern economy.  More more information visit here.
