Plan For Shipments To Take Longer

Covid has caused shipping delays, ports delays and trucking delays. We are advising our clients to allow an additional 5 – 6 weeks to allow for shipping delays.

Reminder: Order Before March 12th To Beat LCL Emergency Charges

The increase in shipping volumes and Covid-19 related operational issues have resulted in shipping lines raising their global freight rates. We are currently experiencing emergency shipping charges from freight carriers, and these rates vary by carrier and by lane. Rather than implement a general price rise, we will be including these emergency charges as an additional surcharge for affected orders on your LCL invoices based on how many cases you ship. The additional charges will not exceed $1 a case, and are a direct pass through from the shipping lines. These additional emergency surcharges will come effective March, 12th 2021.

West Coast Port Update:

West coast port delays remain in place. This has been caused by an increase in volume, coupled with a decrease in port and warehouse workers due to COVID restrictions. This has resulted in average delays of 9 days for containers into the port of Oakland. These delays are expected to worsen throughout the remainder of Q1.

A recent video taken by the Coast Guard shows the number of ships that are at anchor outside of the port of Los Angeles, which you can view here. There is also a video of the container ships anchored in the bay of San Francisco, which you can view here.

Elenteny’s 2021 Holiday Schedule is available on our website here. Elenteny Imports recognizes the holidays listed and will be closed on those dates.

We have completed all inventory adjustments in our system from FDL’s wall-to-wall physical. Any destruction requests have been passed along to the warehouse and will be completed by the end of the month. Please reach out to your account manager if you have any further questions or concerns regarding the adjustments we made and provided to your team.
