Wildfires, Protests and Roadblocks
Chile is currently in an active state of emergency due to wildfire outbreaks, covering nearly 25,000 acres. While the Port at Valparaiso is not impacted, delays are anticipated on roads, and at warehouses, and ports.
In Spain, farmers are protesting this week against EU legislation which increases production costs and jeopardizes the profitability of producers. Several major transport routes were blocked, protestors also restricted access to the Port of Castellon, and the Jerez airport was temporarily cut off.
Agricultural workers in France are continuing to protest working conditions and have blocked key roadways resulting in delays and disruption to transport networks in and around Paris. Dockworkers at French Ports have announced strike action which will slow and or shut down Port activity from February 5 to 7 February 2024, and again on 9 February 2024.
Notice to our Customers: Presidents Day Closure
Elenteny Imports and all partnering warehouses will be closed on Monday, February 19th in Observance of Presidents Day.
Elenteny’s Distribution team will be processing orders on Friday, February 16th for delivery on Tuesday, February 20, or the next available delivery date according to the warehouse schedule.
