Tariffs

Tariffs are now familiar to the Bev Alc industry, and Elenteny is well situated to respond and calibrate our business should they be reintroduced. At this time, we cannot predict the scale, scope or timeline of potential tariffs that could affect our industry.

There is a lot of speculation about what tariff rate may be set, however, we expect notice of the timing and scope prior to implementation, and we are working with our industry colleagues to understand the earliest possible start date.

Elenteny is a member of the US Wine Trade Alliance, and as an active member, we have benefited from information and coordinated advocacy on issues that impact our industry including the 2020 wine tariffs. We encourage interested companies to join the Alliance to receive the most up-to-date information.

Update on ILA & USXM Negotiation

The ILA released a Statement to its members late yesterday noting that negotiations had once again stalled with the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX).  The ILA says that the USMX introduced possible semi-automation at Ports leading to the impasse.  It is not clear, at this time the next steps for the ILA and if negotiations can continue.

Elenteny will continue to monitor the situation closely as the threat of further strike action looms – as we move closer to the 15 January 2025 Master Contract expiry.
