Weekly Update Week 20: May 15th – 19th

Operations Update

French Update   Operations have substantially improved in France with the lessening of strike action and despite the four public holidays scheduled for May.  The next general strike is planned for June 6th.  There should now be no significant delays in pickups and shipments, and suppliers are sending wine out to the consolidation warehouses even without bookings now.  Please reach out to us at po@elentenyimports.com if your wineries are reporting delayed pickup times and we will follow up with the origin office to make arrangements.

Italy delays (Emilia-Romagna,)  Due to severe weather, flooding and road closures in the Emilia-Romagna, local authorities have declared a state of emergency.  Transport to/from this region has been suspended until the situation improves and restrictions can be lifted.  The Formula 1 Grand prix at Imola, this weekend, has been canceled as a result of the exceptional weather.

When to use Less than Container Load (LCL) Shipping  Improving supply chain conditions, falling prices and the need to carefully manage inventory and cash flow have driven a significant interest in using LCL shipments. At the beginning of April we resumed our West Coast LCL shipments, after they were suspended due to supply chain issues.

We offer multiple weekly LCL shipments from France and Italy, with monthly service from most European origins.  South America and Australia/NZ are bi-monthly or quarterly shipments.  Please reach out to your account rep or support@elentenyimports.com for more details.  A quick video overview of our LCL and FCL service may be found here.
