Weekly Update: Week 45: November 7th- 11th

Operations Update:

Upcoming CBMA Webinar:  There will be changes in the CBMA program in 2023 so we will be conducting a webinar on Wednesday, November 16th at 10 AM EST.  To register for this Webinar, please email support@elentenyimports.com.  There are limited spots available and for those of you who can’t make that date, there will be a recording of the webinar made available on our website.  We’ll direct you there when the link is available.

Demand is Dropping: The Transatlantic Westbound Ocean Market reports that demand for imports in the U.S. is dropping, but capacity & congestion issues on the East Coast are still problematic and continue to rise.  Port backlogs are impacting vessel schedules, while warehouse capacity limitations are creating delays for all importers.

Disruption At The Port of Oakland Last Week: There was picketing at the port of Oakland last week over pay issues that resulted in temporary closures.  Operations have now reopened, however it is still taking a minimum of two weeks to retrieve containers.
