Weekly Update #38

14 – 19 September 2025

Tariff Taskforce

The Department of Justice recently launched its new Trade Fraud Task Force. The TFTF  brought together its Civil and Criminal Divisions with Homeland Security to tackle importers who evade tariffs or bring in prohibited goods. This represents a significant shift toward making trade fraud enforcement a central priority, reflecting the administration’s broader trade policy goals.

The government plans to use every available tool, including False Claims Act cases, criminal prosecutions, and administrative penalties.  Companies should take this opportunity to strengthen their compliance programs and thoroughly review their import practices.

We remind  our customers that it is very important that you declare the true and accurate commercial value of all goods.  Misrepresenting the value of your goods to avoid tariffs or duties can result in severe criminal penalties against Elenteny Imports, in addition to seizure of goods and/or other monetary consequences.

Court Ruling Update
The Federal Circuit found that the President exceeded his authority when imposing broad tariffs, but the practical impact remains unclear. All current tariffs stay in effect while the administration appeals to the Supreme Court, meaning businesses can’t count on immediate relief. More information can be found here.

Our Revamped Referral Program

(& Sneak Peak New Pricing Preview)

Elenteny recently released new pricing in the wake of Tariffs, and it’s all Good news.

This release focused primarily on restructuring our volume discounts. We streamlined our pricing tiers from six levels down to four, making the structure simpler to understand and manage. Additionally, we lowered the threshold for our maximum discount from 750 cases to 600 cases, allowing customers to qualify for our highest discount tier with smaller order quantities.

We did not stop there!

If you want a sneak peak at our new price book – email sales@elentenyimports.com

Our revamped referral program :  Level Up

When we receive a new customer referral, we take it as the highest form of praise for our service!  We know that our customers do not decide to refer their contacts lightly as they are staking their reputation on the experience that Elenteny can provide.

Here’s how it works:

Elenteny will give both the referrer and their referee an additional quantity level discount on their next LCL shipment, or $200 off for FCL shipments.

Here is what you need to do!

Just tell another importer who hasn’t tried our services about us! Once they place their first shipping order with us, they will receive an additional quantity discount level on their shipment, and you will receive the same on your current, or next shipment.

We love it when our existing customers introduce new customers to our team. Our business is built on the concept of businesses helping businesses. The more we have to ship, the faster we can fill containers, the sooner everyone gets their wine, and you can start selling. Enjoy the financial benefit derived from the power of friendship, and cooperation.

Mark October 13th in your Calendars, this is the the earliest pick up for Beaujolais Nouveau wines this year.

This means that on or about October 21, Beaujolais Nouveau wines can be exported from the EU.  If you are bringing these wines in we strongly recommend that your suppliers have your orders ready between Monday 13th – Friday 17th.  We know the vessel schedule can be tricky around this time so planning ahead will make the process go smoothly.
