Port Strike Update
As you are likely aware, we are anticipating a strike from the ILA to take effect on October 1, unless an agreement can be reached. Right now, our efforts are focused on getting containers arriving prior to October 1 off the port before any potential strike goes into effect. We continue to monitor the situation and will share any insights as they become available.
A note about potential for delay: We have been told by multiple sources that should a strike go into effect, vessels set to arrive during the strike will be met with significant delays. The timeframe we have been provided with is indicating one week of delay for every day dock workers are on the picket line.
CBMA Allocation Open 1 October 2024
2025 CBMA AllocationsOn October 1, 2024, registered foreign producers may begin making gallonage allocations for 2025. In our experience, those who reach out to their suppliers early tend to maximize their CBMA benefit as they are able to collect CBMA on entries from January 1.
Now is a good time to start the conversation about how much gallonage you can have assigned to you. If you are new to CBMA and would like to learn about the process, please reach out to CBMA@elentenyimports.com.
