Port Operations & Weather Updates

Hurricane Debby’s arrival last Sunday in Florida has distributed operations at Northern Ports with some impacts also felt in Georgia due to excessive rain.  This weather event does not directly impact Elenteny shipments, however, we will continue to monitor the situation should diversions from closed Ports affect East Coast arrivals.

Debby has moved back out to sea and is threatening to re-emerge later in the week which may cause extensive flooding up the East Coast,  most likely impacting South Carolina, to Virginia.

Chile is also experiencing wild weather again this week which has continued to disrupt operations at key ports due to large swells impacting loadings.  Regular road closures from Argentina to Chile also persist as the Pass between Mendoza and the Chilean ports of San Antonio and Valparaiso were closed on 5 August due to inclement weather.

The Panama Canal Authority has increased daily transits from 32 to 35 as favorable conditions have held and continue to improve.
