FDA Renewal Period:
October 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024

Food facilities that are required to register with the FDA must renew registrations during the period beginning on October 1 and ending on December 31 of each even-numbered year.

During the renewal period, you will not see the “Update” button listed on the FFRM main menu, until the registration is renewed. If a registration is not renewed by 11:59 PM on December 31 of 2024, the registration is considered expired and FDA will remove it from your account.

In addition, all facilities must include a unique facility identifier (UFI) recognized as acceptable to FDA with the registration submission “To” date, FDA recognizes the Data Universal Numbering System D-U-N-S (DUNS) number as an acceptable UFI. The DUNS number is assigned and managed by Dun & Bradstreet. DUNS numbers can be obtained or verified by visiting D&B’s website.

Reduced Equipment in France resulting in Blank Sailings.

Over the coming months, our freight forwarder has indicated that the lack of availability of equipment has precipitated a number of blank sailings during August.

Shipments from Le Havre to both East and West Coasts have already been impacted as seasonal imports reach a peak.  We also remind our customers that reefer equipment during the summer months is at capacity and if transporting wines during this period, should expect bookings approximately 4 weeks from availability.  Vinliner containers are also available on request.

Below is the number of cases still needed from each origin BEFORE we close the doors on the next sailing.

Scammers, Cyber Security & Phishing Attempts 

Each day Elenteny Imports is contacted by less-than-genuine companies seeking to scam our business.  The schemes are getting more sophisticated with entities representing themselves as legitimate businesses by cloning our usual business practices.

We wanted to share with you some of the scams we have buffered in the last few months:

• Asking for payroll details of employees including bank details (even if the employee does not work at Elenteny!

• Doctoring conversations & email threads between Managers and Employees stating approval for an expense, ie a training course.  The emails used were not from @elentneyimports.com emails but were very close.

• Fake DocuSign emails soliciting personal information relating to the payroll of employees or to confirm invoice information.

• Emails cloning customer email accounts asking to confirm credit information.

• Emails claiming to be from Alexi our CEO directing customers to call a cell number and await text instructions.

• Emails using our old email address @TEImports.com cloned.

An Elenteny Team member will always validate bank information in person via a phone call.  

All emails are generated from @elentenyimports.com  & if you have any questions reach out to your usual team contact to check and verify information. 

Actions to take:

• Be vigilant, check the email address for the correct spelling of Elenteny Imports and the name of the staff member.

• Report phishing attempts to your email provider and immediately block accounts & domains.

• Confirm any suspect emails with an Elenteny Staff member known to you via a phone call.

• Elenteny Imports will never email you from @TEIimports.com  these email addresses have been retired.

**Reminder **: Never give any caller remote access to your computer.  (Notwithstanding that you may not have given bank details hackers can record and count keystrokes to hack your banking information and quickly wipe out accounts).
