Emergency Surcharges’ latest update.. some GOOD news
We wanted to provide you with an important update regarding the Red Sea emergency surcharges. After successful negotiations, we are pleased to inform you that the originally anticipated surcharges of approximately ~$1.75 per case have been revised down.
The new range for these surcharges will now be between 35 cents to 90 cents per case. These charges will be effective for all shipments sailing on or after February 1st. We will keep you updated as soon as we have more details.
New Rail Strike in Germany
Germany rail workers will strike again this week. The strike started on 23 January 2024 and is expected to be in operation until January 29, 2024. Expect flow-on impacts on freight and container movements. More information here.
Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) Hearing: Red Sea
The US FMC will hold a public hearing on February 7, 2024, to examine how conditions in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden regions are impacting commercial shipping & global supply chains. More information can be found here.
National Organic Program *NOP* Update
USDA’s National Organic Program starts on 19 March 2024. There is no wiggle room under the NOP. If you import wine with the words ‘Organic’ anywhere on the label you must be able to provide certification documents for each wine. Ask us a question here. |
