OND: Plan Ahead, Panama Canal Update, Low Volume Lanes Update
Operations Update
OND Plan Ahead
As we fast approach the crucial last quarter of the year, we encourage you to enter your orders as early as possible. If you plan to use our FCL or LCL service to the West Coast, slower shipment times mean that you should plan to have your Thanksgiving orders in now.
Panama Canal Update
The backlog of vessels waiting to pass the Panama Canal, due to drought-related restrictions, has eased in recent days after the waterway’s authority authorized more non-booked ships to pass and as others are choosing alternate routes to avoid the delays. We are currently experiencing no delays as container ships are being prioritized.
Chile
The border pass between Chile and Argentina continues to be affected by bad weather and remains closed. The bad weather is expected to continue throughout the remainder of this week. Shipments from Chile may be delayed.
South Africa
Bad weather and blank sailings, due to low demand, may delay South African shipments.
