Progress at West Coast Ports
We are pleased to announce that The Pacific Maritime Association and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union has announced a tentative agreement on a new six-year contract covering workers at all 29 West Coast ports. The deal was reached with assistance from Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor Julie Su. The parties have not yet released all details of the agreement and it remains subject to ratification by both parties. After 13 months of tense negotiations and periodic work stoppages, the deal is broadly viewed as a positive sign for the future of West Coast operations with the supply chain continuing to improve and trans-pacific demand returning to pre-pandemic levels.
US Inventory Reported as High
The Journal of Commerce reports that inventory levels are on the rise and the highest since the early months of the pandemic. How is your inventory? We want to hear from you. Email us here.
Summer Holidays in Europe are Approaching
Get those orders in before your suppliers take a month or so off in late summer.
