APRIL NEWSLETTER

We’ve woven this week’s update into the monthly newsletter so you can get all your import news in a single click.

Operations Update:

Overall the global shipping and supply chain continues to present significant challenges and in many areas deteriorate.  The Covid situation in China, and in particular Shanghai, has led to almost 500 bulk vessels and hundreds of additional container ships waiting in Chinese waters.  In addition, Hapag steamship lines has suspended their West coast shipping operations leaving MSC as the only viable and significantly more expensive alternative.   It is estimated that 10% of the world’s container fleet is currently waiting to enter ports.

We are currently considering our options for West Coast LCL operations and will update you as a matter of urgency.

Customer Poll Response:

Last month we invited our network to participate in a brief survey. We wanted to understand which new countries of origin you’re most interested in and how you envision growing your business.

Thank you to all who participated. We’re using your answers to help us plan future Less than Container Load (LCL) shipping routes.

Below you will find the results from one of our questions relating to general plans for business growth, and here is a link to the other results.
