Tariff Update

The US Customs & Border Patrol (CBP) has published the guidance on customs procedures related to the four month suspension of tariffs associated with the Boeing/Airbus dispute.  As a reference, the links are provided below for both the UK and EU tariffs.

United Kingdom – United States. The alcoholic beverage products that were previously subject to the WTO 25% tariff are now suspended. Please note the below dates that reference the date the ocean vessels’ landing date at the US port:

Effective date: March 4, 2021 12:01 AM Eastern  to July 4, 2021 12:01 AM Eastern

Shipping Costs


The rise in worldwide container demand and COVID-related issues has led to a global increase in container delays and costs.  Elenteny Imports’ Alexi Cashen is featured in a segment with NTD News discussing the challenges facing importers.  We continued to recommend that our clients allow an additional 4 – 6 weeks for shipping delays.

Fuel Surcharge Change

We recently announced an increase in our fuel surcharge reflecting the rise in oil prices.  For LCL orders placed after April 12th, fuel surcharge will rise by 2%, reversing last year’s cut.  Details can be found on our website.  For FCL orders the price change will be effective on all new orders
