ILWU Strike in Vancouver, Phishing Attacks, Freight Price Reduction

Operations Update

Freight Price Reduction
For those of you who didn’t see last week’s newsletter, we are happy to announce our fourth freight price reduction of 2023. These changes will be effective on all LCL shipments departing on or after July 16th 2023. FCL shipments will also experience a price reduction.

ILWU Strike in Vancouver
The original deal was finally voted on on Friday last week and workers officially voted down the deal that union bosses had originally refused to put up for a vote. By Sunday, a tentative new deal was in the offing, and the union has been given until Friday to ratify the deal.  Work is proceeding until then but there is an 8-week backlog that at this point is basically in Seattle and Vancouver.

Phishing Attacks
We have recently been made aware that scammers have been targeting our customers by sending false payment instructions in a PDF document with our logo on it.

There have been no changes or updates to our existing payment instructions and we are still accepting check payments to our lockbox. If you have any questions whatsoever, please contact us at ar@elentenyimports.com or call us at (646) 723-4578.

For your own security, always verify changes to payment methods and accounts by telephone on a number you know to be real as opposed to what may be contained in the email.  We are not responsible for payments made to outside parties.

Too much work, and no vacation,
Deserves at least a small libation.
So hail! my friends, and raise your glasses;
