North American Operations Update: See Which Port Delays May Affect You

Which Ports Are Seeing the Most Delays:

  • New York/ New Jersey: 24 hours

  • Los Angeles / Long Beach : Oakland: 8-12 days

  • Seattle: 48 hour berthing delays; yard is at 100% capacity.

Why Are There Delays for Pickups of Containers and Equipment?

The delays are due to a 50.5% increase in traffic from last year and up 36.9% from March 2019, according to Panjiva market data.  The U.S. handled 3.02M TEU (20 foot equivalent unit) ocean imports in March.

We’re experiencing delays due to concentrated vessel arrivals, high volumes, labor shortages, and yard congestion.  Driver and chassis shortage is adding to the delays moving containers off yards.
