Winery Assignments & Filing Deadlines
Good news for wineries and importers navigating CBMA (Craft Beverage Modernization Act) assignments:
The TTB has announced an extension to the submission window for CBMA gallonage increases in myTTB — now through March 31.
Previously, CBMA assignment submissions closed on December 31, leaving little room for corrections or missed entries. This new timeline offers much-needed flexibility for producers and importers who occasionally exceed or miss their original assignments.
What This Means for Wineries
With Q4 of 2025 underway, wineries can now begin assigning 2026 CBMA volumes.
To ensure proper application of your CBMA credits, please provide the following information to our compliance team:
Send to: cbma@elentenyimports.com
- TTB Foreign Producer ID
- CBMA Gallons Assigned
Important: Anything that arrives after January 1, 2026 will require a 2026 CBMA assignment, regardless of prior extensions.
Quarterly Filing Update
Our Q3 2025 filing was submitted on October 1st. Under normal circumstances, TTB reviews and transmits rebates within 6–8 weeks. However, due to the current government shutdown, delays are expected.
TTB has indicated that suppliers can still make assignments through myTTB, but new registrations requiring review will not be processed until government funding and operations resume.
As always, the Elenteny Imports compliance team is monitoring updates closely and will share additional details as soon as they are available.
